“I used cilantro recently and realized how much sharper and stronger the taste is when you get it directly out of your garden.” ~Dave Alterescu – Urban Gardener
What do you get when you combine a passionate urban gardener with an innovative mixologist? An epicurean mash-up web series called Slow Pour. A riff on the Slow Food Movement, each episode consisted of a hobbyist that was creating something unique and edible. From hydroponic produce to scratch made chocolate, we showed the process, tools, and dedication required to do it yourself at home.
Paired with each epicurean hobbyist is a talented mixologist what takes the episode’s ingredient and creates a series of specialty cocktails. Examples ranged from tweaked classic pre-prohibition to more contemporary using molecular mixology techniques.
Mixologists also took part in onsite demonstrations. One example was a partnership with mixologist Lynnette Marrero, Pernod Ricard, and Outbrain.
